SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The San Rafael Pacifics' BMW Sonnen Weekend begins this Friday, August 16. A full host of events surrounding the weekend series will highlight player skills, from serious to serious fun. Tickets for the weekend are available now at www.pacificsbaseball.com
Future Prospects Skills Challenge
Friday, August 16 - 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Three age groups from Future Prospects Baseball will showcase the budding baseball talent in Marin County. The competition includes the Obstacle C ourse, "Protect This House," Bazooka Fly Balls, and Throwing for Accuracy, Distance, and Velocity.
San Rafael Pacifics Home Run Derby
Saturday, August 17 - 30 minutes after the Pacifics game ends
Pacifics players Kyle Dhanani, Chase Fontaine, Maikel Jova, and Johnny Woodard will compete in a home-run derby, with the winner being crowned the 2013 Pacifics Home Run Derby Champion.
Celebrity Softball Game
Sunday, August 18 - 12:00 p.m.
Celebrities scheduled to appear include Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley; former Major Leaguer and Future Prospects Baseball Director Charles Scott; former NFL defensive end and San Rafael High School alumnus Natu Tuatagaloa; professional boxer Paul Nave; San Francisco Chronicle sportswriter John Shea; and the mascots from Dominican University of California and Sonoma State.
