
San Jose Skyrockets name head coach

San Jose, CA. The ABA San Jose Skyrockets announced the hiring of Marc Joffe as their first head coach. Joffe will assume his duties immediately as the Skyrockets prepare for their upcoming player tryouts.
"We believe Marc will be very valuable in helping the Skyrockets build a great team that will become a contender for the ABA championship," said Kazumi Hasegawa, the Skyrockets CEO and President. "We are very excited about our seasoned management team and are ready to move forward toward our 2005 opening game schedule for November 18th at the San Jose Civic Auditorium."
Marc learned his basketball from legendary Hall of Fame UCLA coach John Wooden at his basketball camps. He also worked with Hall of Fame University of Arizona coach Lute Olson and current University of San Francisco coach Jesse Evans at the Arizona basketball camps. He has extensive experience as a dynamic basketball coach and recruiter who has made great contributions to the overall success of every program he has been involved with. The California native has worked primarily on the NCAA Division I level as an Asst Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Tennessee State University, Morehead State University and California State University, Sacramento. He also worked in the smae capacity on the NCAA Division II level at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Marc previously coached in the San Jose Civic Auditorium where the Skyrockets will play their games when he was an Asst Coach at San Jose State University.
"I look forward to bringing a new enthusiasm to the Civic Auditorium and the whole community with an exciting brand of up-tempo basketball," said Joffe. "The foundation of our team will be based upon sportsmanship, dedication, and discipline while making sure that everyone has fun in the process of striving to attain an ABA championship."
