
San Jose Sharks Sign Firebirds' Defenseman Artem Guryev to Entry-Level Deal

Flint, Mich. - The San Jose Sharks announced today the signing of Firebirds' defenseman Artem Guryev to a three-year entry-level deal.
"I am extremely proud to sign my first contract," Guryev said. "I couldn't have done it without my family, friends, and coaches that helped me along the way and I can't wait to get started with San Jose."
Guryev finished the year with 7 G and 8 A in 38 GP with Flint after being acquired from Peterborough in November where he had just 1 A in 9 GP with the Petes. He now sits at 30 career Pts in 98 GP in the OHL.
The native of Moscow, Russia was selected by the Sharks in the 5th round (#135 overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft. He saw action with San Jose in the preseason this past year.
Guryev was selected by Peterborough in the 2nd round (#22 overall) in the 2019 OHL Draft after playing his U16 season with the Toronto Marlboros (GTHL). His rookie year in the OHL saw him play in 14 games while adding 2 A and going +3.
