Worcester Sharks News Release
SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defensemen Derek Joslin and Mike Moore from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Joslin played for the Canadian AHL All-Star Team this past weekend in Worcester, where he won the Reebok "Hardest Shot" event with a shot registering 98.6 miles per hour at the AHL All-Star Skills Competition. Joslin subsequently lost the individual Sher-Wood Puck Control Relay to Sharks teammate Ryan Vesce
Originally recalled to San Jose on Jan. 2, Joslin has played in seven games with the Sharks, posting four penalty minutes. He was re-assigned on Jan. 22 to play in the AHL All-Star Game.
At the time of his recall to San Jose, Joslin was third on Worcester in scoring, first among defensemen with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 34 games.
The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Moore has posted 10 points (three goals, seven assists) along with a team-high +10 rating in 43 games with Worcester in his first full season of professional hockey.
Moore was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on April 8, 2008, following four seasons of collegiate hockey at Princeton University.
