
San Jose Earthquakes Claim Midfielder Matheus Silva off Waivers

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has claimed midfielder Matheus Silva off waivers, pending receipt of a P-1 Visa and ITC. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Silva, 18, was one of the top prep players in the country this year, leading the Montverde Academy (FL) to an undefeated 18-0-1 record and the top spot in the TopDrawerSoccer.com national rankings.
Silva is a native of Taboao Da Serra, Brazil, and is now the youngest player on the Quakes roster.
