San Diego Wave FC Announces 2024 Regular Season Schedule

SAN DIEGO - San Diego Wave FC and the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the club's 26-game schedule for the 2024 NWSL regular season. The 2023 NWSL Shield winners kick off its third season and aim to return to the playoffs for the third straight year when they host the Kansas City Current on Saturday, March 23 at Snapdragon Stadium at 7:00 p.m. PT.

Wave FC will launch the all-new Half and Quarter Season Memberships, which includes discounted tickets and parking, tomorrow beginning at 12:00 p.m. PT. In addition, Wave's Full Season Membership is on sale now and provides fans with access to the best seats and rates, 50% off parking, payment plan options and exclusive events. Single-game tickets will go on sale on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. PT.

The club's regular season schedule features: two (2) Wednesday matches, one (1) Thursday match, six (6) Friday matches, eleven (11) Saturday matches, and four (4) Sunday matches. San Diego will host the highest number of Wave matches at home in September, taking on the Washington Spirit (Sept. 1), North Carolina Courage (Sept. 8) and Portland Thorns (Sept. 28).

San Diego will have a three-match road stretch, traveling east to face the Spirit (June 14) and NY/NJ Gotham (June 19), before traveling south to face Houston Dash (June 22).

As previously announced, the Wave, winners of the 2023 NWSL Shield, presented by CarMax, will face off in the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey on Friday, March 15 on Prime Video ahead of regular season kickoff against reigning NWSL Champion NJ/NY Gotham FC.

The 2024 campaign marks the beginning of the league's landmark four-year domestic media rights agreements with CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video and Scripps Sports that will see 121 matches, including 113 regular season contests, all seven playoff fixtures and the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup, featured on national platforms throughout the season.

Throughout the 2024 season, 121 matches will be distributed across the following partner platforms:

The NWSL will begin each regular season weekend with Friday night matches on Prime Video.

Each Saturday night that follows will include a double-header on Scripps'-owned ION network, available over-the-air in 123 million homes.

A package of regular season matches will air on The CBS Television Network and stream live on Paramount+, with additional matches airing on CBS Sports Network.

ESPN will air a package of matches across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes (Spanish). All NWSL matches on ESPN platforms and on ABC will stream live on ESPN+ in English and Spanish. The package also includes English, Spanish and Portuguese- language rights in Latin America.

The remaining matches will be available on NWSL+, the league's first-ever direct-to-consumer streaming platform. NWSL+ is free to all fans tuning in to matches across the U.S. and available to download on all iOS/Android devices, as well as streaming TV distributors Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku. In addition to match coverage, highlights, select replays and additional league and club content will also be available for free on the app.

For the regular season, Wave FC will be on national broadcast a total of three times - Aug. 24 versus Angel City (CBS), Oct. 19 at Kansas City (CBS) and Nov. 3 versus Racing Louisville (ESPN). In addition, the club will be on Amazon Prime five times - March 29 versus Seattle Reign, April 19 at Orlando, May 3 at Reign, June 7 versus Orlando, and July 5 at Portland. A total of eight matches will be available for fans to watch the Wave on ION - March 23 versus Kansas City, April 13 at Louisville, April 27 versus Bay FC, June 15 at Washington Spirit, June 22 at Houston, Sept. 14 at Utah, Sept. 21 at Chicago and Sept. 28 versus Portland. The remaining games will be available on CBS Sports Network (May 23 at Angel City) and NWSL+.

Details regarding international distribution will be announced in the coming weeks.

The regular season concludes on Sunday, November 3 ahead of the NWSL playoffs. As part of the league's expanded postseason format, eight clubs will qualify for the quarterfinal round taking place the weekend of November 9-10. The semifinal round kicks off the weekend of November 16-17 ahead of the NWSL Championship on November 23.

CBS and Prime Video will have rights to one quarterfinal each while ESPN/ABC will air the remaining pair of quarterfinal matches. CBS and ESPN/ABC will also host one semifinal contest each.

For the third-straight season, the NWSL Championship will air live in primetime on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+.
