San Diego Sockers Add Former Player To Roster
December 9, 2002 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
San Diego Sockers News Release
In an effort to boost the offense, Quinn on Friday picked up Paul Wright off waivers from the Baltimore Blast. The 33-year-old midfielder played along side Quinn with the old Sockers from 1988-92.
"One of those areas where we need extra scoring is from the midfield position," Quinn said. "He has a track record of scoring and a lot of indoor experience."
Wright played for the Blast for the four years, and scored eight goals and eight assists in eight games this season.
During his time with the Sockers, Wright scored 105 goals and totaled 166 points in his four seasons with the team. As a member of the 91-92 team, Wright led the team with 50 goals and 77 points. Wright also spent time with the Baltimore Blast and the Cleveland Crunch in his four years with San Diego.
Wright will be in town early next week and ready to play the following weekend. With an already crowded roster, Quinn will announce a cut on Monday.
