The Impact's inaugural game was last week, in which they lost to the Colorado Inferno 7-6 at home. Arizona is playing on Saturday night at Ontario, before heading to San Diego to face the Sockers 2.Some players to look for on Impact are Viktor Rodakovic, who scored three goals and had one assist last game, and Chris Ramsell, who scored two goals last game.
San Diego has been led by rookie forward Andy Lorei, who has eight points with seven goals and one assist. However, his performance in the first two games of the season has earned him a spot on Sunday's Sockers first team roster for their game against Turlock at 5:05 p.m. Goalkeeper Jean Antione has been solid in goal posting a 2-0 record and a 4.50 GAA.
Last week, the Sockers beat the Ontario Fury II, 10-7, at Ontario for the second consecutive week. San Diego scored two quick goals, one being Tim Liermann's first of the season. Then after a goal scored by Ontario, the Sockers had three consecutive goals in the second quarter, which included two of Mike Mercuriali's first goals. The game then quickly got up to 6-5 in the Sockers favor, but in the end, the Sockers won 10-7.
Supporters can watch the matches free of charge at the VVCC. Fans need to arrive between 12:40-12:50 p.m. at the north entrance to be escorted inside to section 4. Please note that the concourse, concessions, and restrooms will not be open. Regular security measures will be enforced.
MASL 2 is the developmental league of MASL, which holds some of the highest levels of professional arena soccer in the world. It includes teams from across the US, with some teams in Mexico.
