San Diego Gulls Assign Zac Larraza to Utah

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has assigned left wing Zac Larraza to the Utah Grizzlies of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Larraza, 23 (2/25/93), has yet to appear in a regular season game with San Diego in 2016-17. The 6-2, 194-pound forward signed a one-year contract with the Gulls on Sept. 8 after making 12 appearances with the Gulls last season on a professional tryout (PTO), collecting 1-34 points and four PIM.

Selected in the seventh round (196th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft, the Scottsdale, Ariz. native appeared in 24 total AHL contests in his first professional season during 2015-16, splitting time between San Diego, Portland and Milwaukee, recording 3-58 points. Additionally, Larraza collected 20-1030 points with 18 PIM and a +11 rating in 39 games with the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL) last season.
