Quotes:

Head Coach Alen Marcina

(On the win...)

"Very proud of the team. Proud of the collective. It was an important game, for multiple different reasons. First, the win put us tied for first place in the Western Conference. Also, put us in good position in the Copa Tejas with a result. The guys were resilient, going down on a PK. I thought we were dominant prior to the PK, and our guys stayed resilient and they deserved the three points."

(On the team's resilience...)

"We were the aggressors, with and without the ball. Started on the front foot, we created multiple big opportunities early on, we were unfortunate not to put one of those away. PK - unfortunate. But our guys were resilient. They believed, we thought going into the locker room we were the better team in the first half, so we said we've got to continue to believe, show our character, be resilient and we knew that if we did the right things we could leave here with three points and we did."

Midfielder Rida Zouhir

(On the team's effort...)

"Today I saw a real group on the pitch. Everybody was winning for everybody. I saw a family, brothers on the pitch running for each other. That's the mentality we want here at SAFC. And yeah I just cant be happier at that."

(On the team's reslience...)

"We kept pushing because we knew we were the best team on the pitch. We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we kept believing. At halftime we said in the locker room 'guys we're the best team on the pitch, and lets keep going.' That's what we did, and it paid off."

Midfielder Jacori Hayes

(On the win...)

"It was a tough game, between two of the best teams in the Western Conference, and we knew if we got three points here we could climb to be tied for first in the table, so it was a very emotional match, emotions were flying high ... but we're just happy to come in here and get three points."

(On the team's winning streak...)

"It was a tough month for us [June] but we always felt that we were growing, we were getting better and better each game, and I think we're starting to see the fruits of that labor and that hard work that we put in. And you know we want to keep crescendoing [sic] to the end of the season, we have a long way to the end of October, mid-October where the season ends but our eyes are set to getting up to our best come playoffs."
