San Antonio FC Hosts Real Monarchs Slc at Toyota Field

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC (6-8-6) will host Real Monarchs SLC (8-6-4) at Toyota Field on Saturday, July 27 during Breast Health Awareness Night, presented by Methodist Healthcare System. The match will be broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest with Dan Weiss and Gabe Garcia on the call.

SAFC heads into the match after earning a win and a draw in back to back away matches last week. The club earned a 3-1 win against El Paso Locomotive FC on Wednesday with a brace from newcomer Frank Lopez and a goal from Bradford Jamieson IV before splitting points in a scoreless draw with Orange County SC on Saturday.

The Alamo City club is now unbeaten in four consecutive matches, posting a 2-0-2 clip since June 26. SAFC currently sits in 13th place in the Western Conference, but a win could propel the team into ninth place pending other results around the league.

Real Monarchs will look to build on a hot streak of their own as they look to build on their five-game unbeaten run, during which they recorded four wins and one draw. The Monarchs have proven to be a goalscoring threat this season, tallying 37 goals so far which are tied for the fourth-most in the USL Championship.

SAFC is 3-2-1 against the Monarchs all-time and 1-0-1 when playing within the confines of Toyota Field. SAFC fell 2-3 against the Monarchs in their last matchup after two penalties and a goal in open play bested a brace from midfielder Brian Gomez at Zions Bank Stadium on April 20.

Saturday's match will mark Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Methodist Healthcare System. Fans can bid for signed, player-worn special edition pregame tops online to benefit Texas Wings, whose mission is to is to provide comprehensive breast health care services to women in Central and South Texas. SAFC will also offer a $5 pink vodka lemonade drink special throughout the match from which proceeds will also benefit Wings.

All-time Series: The game marks the seventh matchup between the two clubs. SAFC is 3-2-1 all-time against the Monarchs and 1-0-1 when facing them at Toyota Field. SAFC fell to the Monarchs 2-3 on April 20 in their last encounter.
