Phoenix Rising FC Has Chance to Break League Record on the Road

Phoenix Rising FC hits the road for Oklahoma, where the club will defend its ten-match winning streak against Tula Roughnecks FC. The match is scheduled to kickoff 5:30 p.m. at and will air on YourPHX CW (channel 6 on cable and 61.1 on satellite & over-the-air) as well as ArizonaSports.com.

Last week, the club matched a USL Championship record for consecutive wins following a 6-0 drubbing of Austin Bold FC. Teammates Solomon Asante (two goals and an assist) and Junior Flemmings (two assists) each earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors for their performance during the match. Forward Adam Jahn scored, making it ten of his last eleven matches with a goal or an assist, while Jon Bakero, Joey Calistri, and James Musa rounded out the club's scoring.

The win matched a USL Championship record for most consecutive wins in a season (10), set by FC Cincinnati in 2018. A win this weekend would break the league record and would also break a club record for most consecutive road wins in a season (4).

This will be the second and final meeting of the regular season between the two clubs. Phoenix Rising won the previous match, 5-0, on June 7th at Casino Arizona Field. Fans can watch the match at one of two official watch parties: Vine Tavern in Tempe and Philly's Sports Grill in Tempe.

PHXvTUL Series

This will be the 10th all-time meeting between the two clubs with PHX's all-time record being 4-4-1.

PHX's last win in the series was earlier this season on June 7, 2019.

PHX has won the last four matches after going winless in the first five games.

The club's leading scorer is Luca Lobo with seven goals in 17 appearances. Rodrigo da Costa is their second-leading scorer with six goals.

In its last home match, Phoenix Rising broke a regular-season attendance record with 7,387 people in attendance. It was the third-largest crowd ever at Casino Arizona Field with the top two attendances coming during the club's 2018 playoff run. It was also the club's 13th consecutive sellout.

$1 Beer Goals, Goals, Goals

On the last $1 Beer Night on July 19, 2019, PHX broke their single-match record for goals at home with six goals in their 6-0 win over Austin Bold FC. Over 12 $1 Beer Night matches, the club has scored 40 goals.

Road Warriors

With Phoenix Rising back on the road, the club has an opportunity to break its record for most consecutive road wins in a season (4). Even with a draw, the team can match its record for the longest unbeaten run on the road (5).

Difference Makers

Not only is Phoenix Rising leading USL championship in goals (52) but the club's goal differential is also the best in the league by a wide margin. The club currently has a +35 goal differential, 14 goals better than the next highest total.

Double-Double

Solomon Asante's Western Conference record streak of scoring in seven consecutive matches (nine goals total) came to an end on July 13th vs. RGV. However, that night Asante notched his 10th assist of the season, making him the fastest player to record double-digits in goals (12) and assists in USL Championship history (done in 18 matches).
