San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC played to two scoreless draws against El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday evening at Toyota Field. Following a 75-minute match, the clubs squared off in a 45-minute game with the majority of the SAFC roster receiving valuable playing time.
"We are pleased with the players tonight, they all worked hard," said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. "It was a lot of minutes of soccer and all of the players worked hard throughout. Now we go back to next week to keep improving."
San Antonio FC created a number of chances in the first match, highlighted by a Jack Barmby free-kick that forced a diving save from the El Paso goalkeeper. Chances from Lance Laing, Billy Forbes and Cristian Parano gave the hosts opportunities to score, however the first game would finish 0-0 after 75 hard fought minutes.
The second match featured a new starting 11 for SAFC as the two sides played 45 minutes to complete the preseason matches on the day. A header from Pascal Eboussi was the closest the Alamo City club came to scoring in the game.
