TODAY'S NEWS

The 2019 San Antonio Commanders held its 15th of 22 Training Camp practices on Monday at Central Catholic High School's Bob Benson '66 Stadium.

The practice sessions was at three quarter-paced with the players in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) and contact limited.

The offense spent much of its focus on red zone and goal line situations.

Impressing in the goal line period during the team sessions were running backs David Cobb (Minnesota) and Kenneth Farrow II (Houston) as their physical north-to-south running styles were able to be utilized.

Also taking advantage near the goal line were large wide receiving targets Josh Stewart (UTSA) and Mekale McKay (Cincinnati). Both hauled in a pair of TD passes.

Defensively, cornerbacks Duke Thomas (Texas) and Jordan Thomas (Oklahoma) each had a pass breakup and De'Vante Bausby (Pittsburg State) came away with an interception.

The Commanders' roster is at 75 players from 50 different colleges and universities. The University of Houston has the most representation on the roster with five players.

A member of The Alliance of American Football, the San Antonio Commanders have an experienced professional coaching and front office staff led by head coach Mike Riley, general manager Daryl Johnston and team president Vic Gregovits.
