Orlando Apollos News Release

TODAY'S NEWS

The Apollos held their 14th practice of training camp and first of their third full week in San Antonio. Orlando will travel to the Arizona Hotshots practice site, Southwest High School, for a joint-practice on Wednesday.

WEEK THREE = HUMP WEEK: It's crunch time for the 75 players that make up the Apollos' training camp roster, with 10 days until cuts need to be made to get the team down to 52 players for the regular season. Head coach Steve Spurrier called this week 'Hump week' noting that the enthusiasm and focus has picked up, saying, "The players are trying to show the coaches, 'Hey, I can play! I want to make the team.' We've got healthy competition out here right now."

PRICE AND CREW MAKING A DIFFERENCE: On Sunday, the Apollos' off-day, Sean Price and several other players from the Apollos, Arizona Hotshots and Memphis Express visited the San Antonio Food Bank. Players were assigned to pack as many boxes as they could in two hours - in total, 1,002 boxes were packed equaling 23,246 meals for the bank, which feeds around 58,000 individuals per week. The visit was part of a league-wide initiative to help make an impact in the San Antonio community as part of MLK Service Day.

Of the experience, Price said, "It was humbling, very humbling. For the league itself, The Alliance, to give us the opportunity to give back to the community in a state where I'm not even from, but for it to impact so many lives, meant a lot to me."

APOLLOS FOOTBALL WEEKLY: The Orlando Apollos today announced in collaboration with Topgolf Orlando that 'Apollos Football Weekly,' the team's weekly radio show airing Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET on iHeartRadio's Real Radio 104.1 FM, will be taped live at Topgolf Orlando for the show's first three weeks on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. ET starting January 31.
