
Sami Whitcomb Out with Ankle Sprain

NEW YORK - New York Liberty shooting guard, Sami Whitcomb, injured her left ankle at the 2:12 mark in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Sparks. Whitcomb underwent an MRI and clinical exam at Hospital for Special Surgery on Monday, August 23 which revealed the diagnosis of an ankle sprain.
The Liberty's medical staff determined Sami will be unavailable for 10-14 days. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
Whitcomb, the WNBA's leading three-point shooter, is compiling a career-best season. She is averaging 12.8 points on 48.5% (112-231) shooting from the field, 44.2% (69-156) from three, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists through her first 25 games with the Liberty.
