Saltdogs Bite of the Week â A couple of players with Saltdogs ties are pictured in the current edition of ESPN the Magazine. Cory Harris, a Saltdogs outfielder in 2002, and Pete Rasmussen, an outfielder in 2003, are featured as part of an article about the Greek Olympic team. Harris and Rasmussen both competed for the Greek National team that took home the silver medal at the 2003 European Championship in the Netherlands. Watch for a couple of Saltdogs at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece!
Saltdogs Question of the Week â How does the Saltdog Spring Training facility fit in with the Saltdogs organization? Who staffs it??
Saltdogs Spring Training is a training facility run by Saltdogs players, with an aim to give professional baseball instructionn to area youth. Current Saltdogs players who are also instructors at the facility are Bryan Warner, Josh Patton and Byron Embry. The three attempt to maximize each player's play, making their potential equal their output on the field. The facility, located near 15th and Pine Lake Streets in Lincoln, has batting cages and pitching mounds for youngsters to work on their craft. Front Office Profile â Bret Beer â Assistant General Manager/ Director of Sales and Marketing
Now that's a really long title, possibly because Bret can do it all. Lincoln is the 4th baseball team in Bret's professional career, following his career as a college baseball player with the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees in Davenport, Iowa. Bret had been the Director of Ticketing for the Saltdogs first three seasons, and has moved over to the marketing side in 2004.
