Lake Country DockHounds News Release

OCONOMOWOC, WI - The Lake Country DockHounds fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs Friday evening 3-2 in Oconomowoc.

It was a low-scoring affair in Friday's contest, but some timely hitting led Lincoln to the victory. Alex McRae took the mound for the 'Hounds and gave up three runs in his eight innings of work.

Although he gave up 11 combined hits, the all-star kept the base runners at bay with the help of his defense. In fact, Wilfredo Gimenez caught three runners stealing in the first four innings.

In the second inning, Welington Dotel and Garett Delano opened up with a pair of singles. Patrick Caulfield drove in each runner with a double.

With runners at the corners in the sixth, Matt Goodheart grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Ryan Long.

Lake Country would score their first run in the next half inning with a sac-fly, courtesy of TJ Bennett.

Following the seventh-inning stretch, Daikan Yoh hit a solo home run to bring the 'Hounds within a run, but the team would lose 3-2.

Although a quality start, McRae took the losing decision. Josh Norwood had the win, while Jonathan Cheshire completed the save.

The DockHounds continue their homestand against the Lincoln Saltdogs on Saturday at 6:5. You can catch the action live on AAbaseball.tv, with the voice of the DockHounds, Sam Matheny, providing the play-by-play commentary.
