Salt Lake Bees News Release

Four Salt Lake pitchers combined on a six hitter, as the Bees edged the Albuquerque Isotopes 4-3 on Sunday night. Starter Dustin Richardson allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out a season high seven batters. Yeiper Castillo (1-0), who was making his Bees and Triple-A debut, retired ten of the 11 batters he faced to earn the victory. Brandon Sisk gave up one run on one hit in the eighth, but Ryan Chaffee worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn his second save of the season. The four pitchers also combined to strike out seven Albuquerque batters.

The Bees trailed 2-1 in the sixth with runners at first and third with one out when Brennan Boesch hit a bouncer to Isotopes' second baseman Miguel Rojas, who threw the ball into left field and that allowed the tying and go ahead runs to score. Salt Lake would add a run in the seventh on an RBI double by Tommy Field. They would need the insurance, as Albuquerque scored in the eighth to make it 4-3. Field led the Bees with three hits and one run batted in, while Shawn O'Malley chipped in with a pair of singles.
