Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they led the West Division not only on the ice, but also led the Division with a total attendance of 175,354 for a club record average of 4,871 fans through 36 regular season home games in 2007-2008!
With the regular season finish coming down to the wire at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, the Salmon Kings welcomed the largest three-game series attendance since their inception as 18,540 fans witnessed Victoria claim its first West Division Championship over the Alaska Aces. Victoria capped off the regular season in fine fashion with the first sellout of the season, a total 7,006 Salmon Kings' faithful in attendance.
"Our fans have proven to be some of the best in all of hockey," said Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Dan Belisle. "Their support has been invaluable to us, and has played a large role in our success at home this season."
