Record This Week - 2-0-0 Record For Season- 2-0-0 (4 pts)

Coming Up This Week – The Saints take to the road on Wednesday to head to Corpus Christi where they play the Rayz on Thursday night. From there the team will travel to Laredo to take on the Bucks Friday night and then return home for a Saturday night game against the Odessa Jackalopes.

Upcoming Promotions – Saturday night will be Church Night at the San Angelo Coliseum with groups attending from local and area churches of all denominations. One thousand free Saints rally towels will be handed out at the door, courtesy of Bug Express.

Week In Review – The Saints went 2-0-0 this week with a road win over Odessa to open the season and a home win over Rio Grande Valley in the Saints’ home opener.

Oct. 17th / San Angelo 4 - Odessa 1 / The Saints got goals from four different players as they overcame a shaky first period to beat the Jackalopes in the season opener for both teams. The Jacks got a late goal in the 1st period from Chris Gignac for a 1-0 lead heading into the break. The Saints answered in the 2nd period with goals from Derek Booth and Ryan Finnerty to take a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period. Steve Roberts and Taras Foremsky notched goals for the Saints in the 3rd period for the 4-1 final score. Roberts had a 2-point night (1G, 1A) and Scott Reid earned the #1 Star of the Game with 28 saves on 29 shots.

Oct. 18th / Rio Grande Valley 1 - San Angelo 3 / More than 4,000 fans showed up to watch the Saints beat the Killer Bees in the teamÂ’s home opener Saturday night. Jarret Metz and Chris Minard notched first period goals as the Saints controlled the early tempo. But, the Bees woke up and scored late in the period to make it 2-1 heading into the break. The Bees controlled the 2nd period and out-shot the Saints 11-1, but couldnÂ’t crack Scott Reid who had his second straight stellar game in net for the Saints. Despite being out-shot 14-4 in the 3rd period, the Saints got the only goal from Minard to ice the game with less than 4 minutes remaining. Reid again earned #1 Star of the Game honors for his 34 saves on 35 shots.

Injury Report – No significant injuries to report from Week 1.
