St. Paul Saints News Release

The St. Paul Saints won't let laptops, manuals or unnecessary conversations ruin their upcoming homestand. The focus and attention will be on the fans, the promotions and putting together a humorous and entertaining three-game homestand over Memorial Day Weekend.

Following the series opener May 28 versus Sioux Falls, the Saints will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of one of the most classic comedies, "Airplane," with a salute to the airline industry on Saturday, May 29. For one night, Midway Stadium becomes Flyover Country with a humorous twist on the October 21, 2009 incident that saw a plane overshoot its landing spot at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and instead wind up approximately 80 miles east of the Twin Cities.

That night, the Saints cannot guarantee that fans will make it directly to their seats by taking the most direct route. Should Saints ushers become distracted there is a backup plan. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Saints compass, however, all directions on the compass point one way: Northwest. One lucky fan will win a trip to Eau Claire, WI, but once there, must turn around and come directly back to the Twin Cities. Fans are asked to leave their laptops at home, so their focus can remain on the playing field.

The Saints will close out the homestand with a fireworks extravaganza following the Sunday night, May 30 game in honor of Memorial Day. After the fireworks, all kids in attendance may run the bases and get autographs from the entire Saints team as part of Mayfield Chiropractic Family Sunday. It's in an incredible night to close out an entertaining weekend.

Tickets for all Saints home games can be purchased by calling the Saints box office at 651-644-6659 or visiting saintsbaseball.com.
