
Sioux City Explorers Drop Final Game In Grand Prairie

The Sioux City Explorers dropped the final game of the Southern road trip Wednesday in a 7-5 loss to the Air Hogs. The downfall for the Explorers was the ten walks issued to Grand Prairie, four in the third inning when the AirHogs to a 4-0 lead.
The X's cut the lead to 4-1 in the fifth inning when Ray Serrano scored on a double play turned by Grand Prairie. However, the AirHogs scored two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run home run by Greg Porter. Darrick Hale led the X's with two hits including a solo home run in the ninth inning, his first of the season. The Explorers closed out the seven game road trip at 4-3.
The X's will now open up the home season on Friday night at Lewis and Clark Park against Sioux Falls. Fireworks will follow the 7:05 game time. Reserve your tickets by calling 277-9467.
