ST. PAUL, MN (June 1, 2007) - The St. Paul Saints offense has definitely opened some eyes around the American Association and it has paid off as Brent Krause was named the B45 Player of the Month in the American Association, the League announced today.

Krause finished the month of May hitting .422 with one homer and 19 RBI in 20 games. His lone home run was a grand slam on May 17 at home against the St. Joseph Blacksnakes. His numbers currently put him tops in the league in average, hits (35), tied for first in triples (3) and third in on base percentage (.461).

"Brent has done everything asked of him," said Saints Manager George Tsamis. "The offensive numbers are impressive after one month, but not to be lost is the tremendous defense he has played in both right and center. He definitely deserved this honor."

This is the second award the Saints have earned this season. Charlie Ruud was named the Pitcher of the Week earlier this season.
