Saints Glynn Announces Commitment to Nebraska Omaha
April 14, 2020 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
Jimmy Glynn became the first Fighting Saint to commit to college during the offseason, announcing his commitment to Nebraska-Omaha late last week. Glynn, who played in his first USHL season with the Saints, was a late addition to camp but quickly made his presence felt on the team. Glynn played in all areas of the game; with time on the power play and penalty kill in addition to even strength.
"We are happy our boy Jimmy found a fit where he can continue his academic and athletic education," said head coach Oliver David. "In addition, we also want to thank his wonderful parents for allowing him to play for our club and raising a great young man. Jimmy made a "coaches dream" a reality every day, he is incredibly coachable."
Glynn posted 18 points on the season, with seven goals and 11 assists. He had two points on the power play, two shorthanded and also added two game-winning goals. Glynn finished the season in the top-10 on Dubuque's scoring charts.
"I'm extremely honored and excited to announce my commitment to continue playing hockey at the Univeristy of Nebraska-Omaha," said Glynn. "I would like to thank the coaches, staff, billets, and especially fans of Dubuque for everything they have done for me. It wouldn't have been possible with all their support and help. Saints For Life."
With Glynn's commitment, 19 Fighting Saints from this season's team have inked a college commitment. Glynn is the first Saint to commit to the Mavericks this year.
