St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (October 8, 2007) - The best and brightest from the American Association will convene in St. Paul as the Saints host the Third Annual American Association All-Star Game at Midway Stadium on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
For the first time since 1997 and second time in their 16-season history, the Saints will host an All-Star Game. The game pits the best players from the North Division against the best of the South as selected by managers and media representatives from all 10 American Association teams.
"This is an unbelievable honor for us to host the All-Star Game," said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer. "We have the best fans around and it will be a great night for them to watch the best our league has to offer."
The managers are already set for the mid-summer classic and the two men that faced off in the 2007 American Association Championship Series, and the 2006 All-Star Game, will face off again. The South will be managed by the Fort Worth Cats manager Stan Hough and the North by Saints manager George Tsamis.
The All-Star schedule of events, game time and individual ticket information will be announced at a later date. Tickets to the All-Star Game are available now through Saints season ticket plans by calling 651-644-6659.
