October 8, 2007 - American Association (AA) News Release
PENSACOLA, FL. - For the second-straight season, the Lincoln Saltdogs have been honored by the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball as the league's "Organization of the Year". The award was determined by a vote of coaches and media personnel taken at the conclusion of the season and named at the recently concluded league meetings in Pensacola, FL.
"It is always nice to have the work you do recognized by your peers so we are honored to be the Organization of the Year once again," said Saltdogs Chairman Jim Abel. "We have a great deal of respect for the people who make up the American Association and we are committed along with them to making it the top league in the country. 2007 was another great season for us and to be the Organization of the Year strengthens our resolve to be the best we can be next year and in the years to come."
Lincoln's front office is headed up by Team President Charlie Meyer and Vice-President/General Manager Tim Utrup. The rest of the staff is made up of Bret Beer (Assistant GM/Director of Marketing), Anne Duchek (Director of Merchandising and Promotions), Bill Doleman (Director of Broadcasting and Communications), Toby Antonson (Director of Ticketing), Scott Mauser (Account Executive) and Jeanette Eagleton (Office Manager).
"I'm proud of the people we have in place in our front office and I'm happy that they are being honored for their efforts," said Meyer. "Many people may not realize that preparations for a new season begin as soon as the other one ends and our staff puts in a lot of hard work throughout the year in order to provide a quality product for our fans both on and off the field. In many ways 2007 was one of our best seasons ever and we're looking forward to the challenge of making 2008 even better."
