Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
The Fighting Saints have added one of the top prospects in the 2022 NHL Draft to their roster in Matt Savoie. Savoie has been talked about as a probable top-five pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. He, and his older brother Carter, spent 2019 Main Camp in Dubuque with the Saints.
"We are very excited to add Matt to our team," said Saints General Manager Kalle Larsson. "We know his family well and we know what he will be able to bring to our program. We loved having him at our Main Camp and are ready to see him back on the ice in Dubuque."
Scouting reports for Savoie show just why he is such an exciting prospect. Scouts mention his "endless motor on both ends of the ice", his "bursting acceleration", and possibly most important, his "elite hockey IQ."
Savoie is expected to join the Saints shortly. The team is in action again on Friday and Saturday in Youngstown as they take on the Phantoms.
