Saginaw Spirit Fall to Sarnia Sting at the RBC Centre

The Saginaw Spirit traveled to the RBC Centre to take on the Sarnia Sting. The first period started off quiet with even play throughout. It was a back and forth game until Sting's Davis Brown found the back of the net on a power play at 18:46. Assists on the play were made by Nikita Korostelev and Jakob Chychrun. Sarnia Sting's Troy Lajeuensse then scored his first career OHL goal at the 19:06 mark. Jeff King and Kevin Spinozzi assisted on the play. Shots on goal favored the Sting at the end of the first 18-10.

In the second period the Saginaw Spirit defense was coming on strong but Sarnia Sting's Pavel Zacha snuck the puck past Jake Paterson at the 10:57 mark putting the Sarnia Sting up 3-0. This was his first career OHL goal. Assists on the play went to Nikita Korostelev and Jordan Kyrou. Shots on goal for the 2nd period favored Sarnia 13-9.

Midway through the third period Saginaw Spirit's Luke Cairns capitalized on a power play goal at 10:22. Jimmy Lodge and Marcus Crawford assisted the play. Both teams were 1-5 on the power play. Final shots on goal favored the Sarnia Sting 40-26.

The Saginaw Spirit will host the London Knights at the Dow Event Center after returning home from a three game road trip on Saturday, October 11th at 7:11 p.m. Arrive early to receive a free Saginaw Spirit magnent schedule. Sunday, October 12th the Saginaw Spirit will host the Peterborough Petes. Puck drops at 4pm.
