The match started with both sides dividing the possession. The first chance for Republic FC came in the 14th minute when midfielder Danny Barrera had a strike from the middle of the park. Toros keeper Callum Irving was there however to make the save keeping the match scoreless.
The Toros had their first opportunity in the 22nd minute when Jose "Memo" Rodriguez passed the ball to Eric Bird inside of the box. Bird gathered and shot toward the corner but Republic FC keeper Evan Newton was there to send the shot away to safety.
Republic FC had the best chance of the first half in the 40th minute. Forward Cameron Iwasa steadied the ball in the middle of the box before going one-on-one with Irving, but the keeper came up huge knocking the ball away to safety, keeping the match scoreless at the half.
After a back-and-forth start to the second half, Republic FC took control near the end. In the 88th minute Reublic FC looked like they would take the lead when substitute forward Harry Williams played Iwasa into a one-on-one situation with Irving. Iwasa attacked the middle but his shot was saved by a sliding Irving as the keeper came well off his line to make save.
Republic FC would have one final chance to break the deadlock in the 90th minute with substitute midfielder Joaquin Rivas breaking down the right side. Rivas crossed the ball to Williams who was making a run down the middle of the box. Williams' got his head to the cross and turned it on goal, but Irving was again there for the save keeping the match a scoreless draw.
Republic FC will conclude their five match road stretch when they travel to Oklahoma on Tuesday, August 2, to take on Oklahoma City Energy FC. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. The match will be streamed at SacRepublicFC.com/matchday.
