
Sacramento Mountain Lions Add Former Local Star Marcus McCauley

The Sacramento Mountain Lions have added another local player to their roster as defensive back Marcus McCauley is now with the team.
McCauley, 6-foot-1 and 203 pounds, graduated from Cordova High and he also starred at Fresno State.
He joined the NFL in 2007, playing in all 16 games for the Minnesota Vikings and starting in nine of them. He played in 10 games for the Vikings in 2008 before spending time with four NFL organizations in 2009 (Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Bucs, New Orleans Saints and the Washington Redskins).
His first game with the Mountain Lions will be Thursday when they visit the Florida Tuskers in Orlando. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
The Mountain Lions beat the Tuskers 24-20 on Sept. 25 at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State.
McCauley, 27, played running back, safety, wide receiver, cornerback and kick returner at Cordova.
Other local Mountain Lions are receiver Otis Amey (Sacramento State), defensive lineman John Faletoese (Jesuit, UC Davis), defensive lineman Josh Leonard (Center High) and linebacker Worrell Williams (Grant High, Cal).
