El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas led by three runs at Tuesday's seventh inning stretch but lost to the Sacramento River Cats 7-6 in 12 innings. El Paso is now 5-3 in extra-inning games this season. The defeat snapped El Paso's four-game winning streak.

El Paso turned double plays on the infield to end the bottom of the ninth and the bottom of the 11th but Sacramento's Ryan Lollis started the bottom of the 12th with a double. He advanced to third base on a ground out and jogged home one batter later when Trevor Brown lined a single past diving third baseman Ryan Schimpf.

It was the second extra-inning game of the road trip, as the Chihuahuas won in 10 innings on July 15th at Reno. Christian Villanueva went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and a walk on Tuesday. Chase d'Arnaud went 3-for-6 Tuesday and is 10-for-24 since being outrighted from San Diego.

El Paso's offense has nine or more hits in five consecutive games.
