Aces Come from Behind Snapping Four-Game Skid

RENO, Nev. - The Reno Aces played host to the Salt Lake City Bees at Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday night in game two. The Aces rolled in seven runs in the final three frames to snap their longest losing streak in the 2017 season. Kristopher Negr?n turned on his heroics once again with a go-ahead solo home run in the seventh. Jack Reinheimer finished with an impressive 3-for-4 performance while collecting his 39th RBI.

Reno Starter Jake Buchanan toed the rubber looking to turn in another exceptional start after tossing five and two-third innings, giving up one run on two hits against El Paso last week. Buchanan would get through the first three innings cleanly before giving up a total of six runs to the hot Bees lineup. Buchanan would go five innings, giving up six runs on six hits with one strikeout.

Salt Lake City was first to jump on the board with a three run top of the fourth inning. The inning was lead off with Kaleb Cowart drawing his 41st walk of the season. Cesar Puello would later double with two outs to center field scoring Cowart. Ramon Flores put the finishing touches on the big inning with a two run homerun to deep left center field.

The Aces would answer back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the fourth. Christian Walker drew his second walk of the game to lead off the inning followed by Reinheimer's second hit of the night. With two outs, Rudy Flores would single on a line drive to center field for his 11th RBI on the year cutting the Bees lead to two.

The Bees would continue to manufacture runs in the top of the fifth inning leading it off with a hit by pitch and a Nolan Fontana double to left center field. Eric Young Jr. would follow up with a two RBI single to center field. With two outs, the Bees would scratch another run across from Jefry Marte's fifth double of the year making it a 6-3 ballgame.

The Aces came roaring back in the sixth inning putting up a huge five runs. Zach Borenstein set the table with his 18th double of the year followed by Walker's third walk of the night. Reinheimer collected his third hit of the game to center field scoring Borenstein from second base. With the bases loaded, Willians Astudillo would come up big with an RBI single to left in his first game back since June 30th of this season. Reno would come back to tie it up with three more runs in the inning by way of a base hit and two walks with the bases loaded to Ildemaro Vargas and Borenstein.

Reno would tack on another two runs with a Negr?n homerun that hugged the base of the foul pole in right in the seventh and a leadoff triple from Borenstein who would score on a sac fly by Jeremy Hazelbaker. The comeback would be complete with Jimmie Sherfy recording his 13th save of the year. Silvino Bracho earned his third win of the season out of the bullpen after one full inning of work.

With the win, Reno moves to 56-40, still holding on to their first place lead over the Fresno Grizzlies by one game. The Aces will continue their home stand against the Salt Lake Bees with game three of the set tomorrow at Greater Nevada Field.
