
SaberCats travel to Colorado for playoff opener

SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 22, 2005) â The San Jose SaberCats will begin defense of their Arena Football League title by traveling to Colorado to face the American Conference's top-seeded Crush as the Drive to ArenaBowl XIX Las Vegas begins with four divisional round playoff games on Sunday, May 29.
San Jose clinched a playoff berth with its 54-48 win over Georgia on May 21 and was bumped to the No. 4 seed in the American Conference by virtue of Chicago's win at Nashville. The second-seeded Los Angeles Avengers will host No. 3 Chicago.
Georgia had already clinched the No. 1 seed in the National Conference and will host fourth-seeded Tampa Bay while the Eastern Division winning New York Dragons will host Orlando.
All games will be televised regionally on NBC beginning at 12:30 p.m. (PT).
The SaberCats have never lost to Colorado going 4-0 all-time, including an 89-41 win in Denver on April 22. This will be the first home playoff game for the Crush and the first postseason meeting between the clubs.
