Avengers gear up for playoffs
May 22, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Los Angeles Avengers News Release
The Los Angeles Avengers have finished the 2005 regular season as the Western Division champion and No. 2 seed in the American Conference.
L.A.'s opponent on Sunday, May 29, at STAPLES Center in the divisional round of the AFL Playoffs will be determined by today's game between the Chicago Rush and Nashville Kats, which can be seen on KNBC Channel 4 at noon (Pacific).
If the Rush win, the Avengers will host Chicago. If the Kats win, the Avengers will host the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats.
Next Sunday's playoff game will mark L.A.'s fourth consecutive trip to the postseason and the third time that the Avengers have earned the right to play at home. That contest will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. and be televised on KNBC Channel 4.
Tickets are still available at all Ticketmaster outlets, the STAPLES Center box office and by calling 1-888-AVENGERS.
