December 7, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
The Tulsa Roughnecks announced today that they have exercised the contract option on Ryan Price and the defender will return to the club for the 2016 season. The 23-year-old is the third official signing for the Roughnecks and Head Coach David Irving as they compile their roster for the club's second season.
Price was one of Irving's most reliable performers last season, appearing in 26 of Tulsa's 28 regular season matches. His 2,199 minutes played were the most on the team.
"It's great to have Ryan back for his second professional season," said Irving. "We saw him in Florida last season, and he ended up playing in 26 games for us as a rookie. He is a great lad, and he will only get better as he plays more."
Price converted to a defensive role in his first professional season after playing in an up-front role during his collegiate career at Florida Atlantic University. He scored a total of 13 goals in two seasons with the Owls.
The Florida native played at Melbourne High School, helping his team to back-to-back state titles his junior and senior seasons. Price was named Florida's 5A Player of the Year after his junior year and the 6A Player of the Year following his senior season.
Season tickets for the Roughnecks 2016 season are currently on sale at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office, at TulsaRoughnecksFC.com and by calling (918)744-5901.
