Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
CHICAGO - Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Ryan Beck has been selected as the USHL Forward of the Week for Week 12 of the 2021-22 season. Beck scored three goals and three assists and finished the week a +2 in three wins over the Youngstown Phantoms.
In 22 games with the Fighting Saints this season, Beck has scored 7 goals and 21 assists, good for 28 points. One more point will give him a single season high in his career. The Michigan native is tied for seventh in league scoring and tied for the fourth-most assists in the league with teammate Stephen Halliday. This is the second-year forward's first Forward of the Week award.
Beck scored a spectacular goal in Thursday's game which tied the game at four and forced the game into overtime. The Saints won in an eight-round shootout, 5-4. His best effort came Friday, when he scored two goals and two assists in a 5-3 win. And lastly, he added an assist on the game-winning goal by Nikita Borodayenko in Saturday's 4-1 win.
In his first full season back in 2019-20, Beck was ranked in the NHL Draft as a C-ranked skater. Beck played in the 2020 BioSteel All-American Game in December of 2019.
This is the fourth time a Fighting Saints forward has captured USHL Forward of the Week. Halliday has two on his résumé this season, and Tristan Lemyre picked his up early in the season.
