Chicago Rush News Release

April 15, 2002 – The Chicago Rush and the Mount Prospect Football Association again have teamed up to host a free football clinic for boys and girls ages six to 14.

The camp will take place Tuesday, May 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lions Memorial Park, 411 S. Maple Street, in Mount Prospect. The camp is open to all Chicagoland football players. All participants must sign-up in advance, however, with registration limited to 400 kids.

"We are really looking forward to it," said Rush defensive specialist Cedric Walker. "Anytime you can help the kids get better it is a privilege. I still remember attending a camp at Texas A&M and having the opportunity to meet Earl Campbell. Things like that are a big thrill for kids."

At the camp, Rush players will teach football techniques from blocking and tackling to proper stretching and conditioning, as well as sign autographs for all kids at the conclusion of the camp.

Parents wishing to register their kids for the camp should call Beth Brandon, Rush community relations manager, at (773) 243-3463.

In case of bad weather, the camp's make-up date will be Tuesday, May 13.

The Rush returns home to Allstate Arena this Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. to host the Dallas Desperados. Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the Dallas game, or any Rush regular season home game, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
