Rush to honor Bob McMillen Sunday

March 21, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush will honor FB/LB Bob McMillen, the AFL's new rushing leader, prior to its game with Grand Rapids this Sunday, March 26, the team announced today.

McMillen became the AFL's all-time leading rusher last week in Nashville, surpassing former Tampa Bay FB/LB Les Barley with a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. McMillen had entered the game tied with Barley with 1,382 career yards. McMillen finished the game with four yards rushing and now has 1,386 for his career.

Recently named one of the AFL's 20 greatest players of all time, McMillen ranks third in both career rushing attempts and rushing touchdowns. He has won two ArenaBowl championships (1997 with Arizona and 2002 with San Jose) and is the only player in AFL history to rush for 100 or more yards in seven-consecutive seasons.

Sunday's pregame ceremony will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m. and feature video highlights of McMillen's career, and tributes from current and former coaches and teammates. In addition, Bob will be presented with copies of the many congratulations letters from fans that have been sent to the Rush office.

Fans wishing to send a congratulatory message to Bob may do so by e-mailing the Rush at chicagorushfootball@chicagorush.com. All messages will be presented to Bob as part of the ceremony this week.
