Rush Open Training Camp for 2011-12 Season

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush opened training camp for the 2011-12 season today at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The team is embarking on its fourth season, aiming for a third consecutive 40-win season and conference finals appearance. Starting Wednesday, practices and scrimmages are free and open to the public.

"Obviously everyone here on day one is very excited," said Rush Head Coach Joe Ferras. "We had a tremendous work ethic for two full hours. Everyone was very enthusiastic, and it's exciting to see all of the new bodies here at camp. You can tell that there are some highly skilled players here and they're picking things up right away."

A total of 22 players hit the ice today, looking to earn a spot on the final 19-man roster.

The entire training camp schedule is as follows:

Monday, October 10th: Civic Center, 10am-noon

Tuesday, October 11th: Civic Center, 10am-noon

Wednesday, October 12th: Roosevelt Ice Arena, 10am-noon

Thursday, October 13th: Roosevelt Ice Arena, 8-9:30am & 2:30-3:30pm

Friday, October 14th: Roosevelt Ice Arena, 9-11am

Sunday, October 16th: Roosevelt Ice Arena, 10am-noon

The Rush will then take on the Arizona Sundogs in a pair of preseason games on Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th at 6:35pm. Tickets for both games are just $10 and available at 1-800-GOT-MINE or GOTMINE.COM.
