Rush Hold Best Goal Differential in the West
February 7, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Saskatchewan Rush News Release
42 FOR 42: Mark Matthews notched his 42nd point of the season this past Saturday. This puts him leading the team in points with Robert Church one point behind.
10 TROOPS: The Saskatchewan Rush had 10 different scorers for the 14 goals last Saturday, this was only accomplished twice last season.
FACE OFF KING:Mike Messenger dominated at the dot in his home province winning 15-21 face offs, mainly against Tyrell Hamer-Jackson who was 65.6 per cent on face offs prior to this game.
STANDINGS: The Rush continue to hold the second place position in the west conference with a 4-2 record. The Rush still hold the best goal differential in the west at 23. The next closest team is the San Diego Seals at 12.
Vancouver, BC - A massive fourth quarter lifted the Saskatchewan Rush to a 14-8 victory over the Vancouver Warriors at Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

00 Buque's Given
The star of the show happened after the game ended and it wasn't Trish Stratus or whatever WWE show was taking place, it was Alex Buque whose unfiltered postgame comments broke the internet. Buque's clip has been watched almost two million times across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Record Breaker
Kyle Rubisch surpassed Brett Mydske for all-time games played in a Rush uniform with 171, but the fun didn't stop there as the defensive legend opened the scoring for Saskatchewan. The last time Rubisch opened the scoring in an NLL game, 3,941 days ago against Calgary.
Mission Madronic
I took five games for the Harvard grad to find his goal scoring touch at the NLL level, but over the past two games, Austin Madronic has five goals. Only Robert Church, has lit the lamp more over the last 120 minutes of action.
Share The Love
Saskatchewan had 10 different goal scorers against Vancouver. A mark they only accomplished twice all of last season.
Don't Mess With Him
Mike Messenger dominated at the dot in his home province winning 15-21 faceoffs, mainly against Tyrell Hamer-Jackson who was 65.6 per cent on faceoffs prior to this game.
Boudreau Bingos
Brampton's Jake Boudreau netted his first National Lacrosse League goal in the fourth quarter. After a strong showing in the preseason which included a handful of goals, the 2021 first rounder has now cracked the seal open in the big league. On the Rush, now only Isaac Ngyou and Jeremy Searle have yet to score their first NLL goals.
When Can We Debate
Certain media members have placed Toronto Rock netminder Nick Rose in the MVP conversation early on this season, but if we can agree that Goals Against Average is mostly a team stat and Save Percentage is the real tell-tale sign, Rush netminder Alex Buque could be in that same conversation. Buque has a .807 SV% this season, just 0.001 per cent lower than Rose's .808 SV%.
Cause For Concern
After not allowing a short handed goal through the first four games of the season, Saskatchewan has allowed two short-handed goals in each of their previous two games.
