
RSL Academy Players Named to U.S. U-18 National Team

SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012) - Real Salt Lake and U.S. Soccer announced on Wednesday that Real Salt Lake Arizona Academy players Jordan Allen and Benjamin Lopez have been called up to the U.S. U-18 national team for the squad's upcoming 11-day training camp in the Netherlands. Ben Spencer - who currently trains in Chivas USA's academy but whose MLS rights are held by RSL - was also called into the camp.
Allen, Lopez, Spencer and the rest of the 20-man U-18 roster will travel to the Netherlands on Sept. 7. While there, they'll play friendly matches against the Netherlands U-18 squad as well as the U-18 sides from clubs Feyenoord Rotterdam, Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge before returning to the States on Sept. 18.
Both Allen and Spencer were called in to the last U.S. U-18 camp, playing in the Lisbon International Tournament from May 23-26 in Portugal. Allen, Spencer and Lopez are all listed as forwards on the official roster released by U.S. Soccer.
