
Royals Reach Double Digits Again in 10-0 Blowout of Braves

Burlington, N.C. - The Royals caught fire again on Thursday night in Burlington, blowing out the Braves 10-1 in the first meeting of a three-game set.
Burlington started the bottom of the first with four consecutive singles, with the last one from Vinnie Pasquantino bringing in a run to make it 1-0 Royals. Logan Porter followed that with a sacrifice fly. Then, William Hancock hit a two-run triple. To top it all off, Burle Dixon launched a two-run blast over the left field fence to put Burlington ahead 6-0 in the first.
One inning later, Porter tallied an RBI single to make it a 7-0 lead.
The scoring concluded in the bottom of the third when the Royals plated three runs to pad the edge to 10-0. Kevon Jackson and Pasquantino hit RBI singles while Jake Means scored from third on a wild third strike to Porter.
The Braves were held scoreless by a pitching trio of Daniel Lynch, Jonah Dipoto and Patrick Smith. Lynch, who tossed five scoreless innings out of the gate, earned the win for Burlington. Meanwhile, Danville starter Darius Vines falls to 0-3 after surrendering seven runs in just 1.2 innings of work.
The Royals and Braves face off in game two of a three-game set on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
