Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA - The Omaha Royals will open their 2005 Pacific Coast League schedule on the road against a new member of the PCL â the Round Rock Express â whose relocation from Edmonton will also shift Omaha into a different division next season.
The Royals open the season on Thursday, April 7, 2005 with the first of four games at Round Rock, followed by four games at Albuquerque. The Express and Isotopes will then visit Omaha in a pair of four-game series, with the home opener set for Friday, April 15th.
The Royals will move, along with the Iowa Cubs, from the Central to the Eastern Division, which will still include Memphis and Nashville. The Central Division will be made up of New Orleans and Oklahoma, in addition to Albuquerque and Round Rock. Omaha will play 16 games â eight at home and eight on the road â against those seven American Conference foes.
The Royals will play each Pacific Conference opponent four times, traveling to the Northern Division cities (Colorado Springs, Portland, Salt Lake and Tacoma), while hosting the Southern Division clubs (Fresno, Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tucson).
