Rox score early And often to defeat Pride, 11-7

(Nashua, NH, July 27, 2006) The Brockton Rox compiled a season-high in runs and hits on Thursday night in an 11-7 victory over the Nashua Pride before 1,417 at Historic Holman Stadium.

Brockton (6-5, 30-27) took the lead to stay on a two-out home run in the first inning by Guye Senjem, his eighth of the season. Senjem wound up going four-for-four on the night.

The Rox then exploded in the second inning for six runs on eight hits, seven of them singles. The only extra base hit in the uprising was a run scoring double by Eugene Julien. Jason Radwan and Mike Torres each had three hits and two RBI for the victorious Rox.

Brockton lefty Rolando Viera (5-5) worked seven innings to get credit for the win. He allowed five runs and five hits, walking six and striking out five. Kyle George worked the final two innings to earn his second save of the season.

Vincent Davis (3-3), the first of seven Nashua hurlers worked into the second inning and was charged with four runs on five hits.

James Lofton belted his fourth home run of the season for Nashua (4-7, 21-32) while Billy Becher and Sean Dobson each had a hit and two runs batted in for the Pride.

The four-game series will resume Friday evening at 7:05 in Nashua. It'll be a battle of righthanders with Josh Stevens on the mound for Nashua and John Boker for Brockton.
