BROCKTON - Craig Anderson threw the Brockton Rox's (19-6) first complete game of the 2005 season and the offense teed off for four home runs in a 8-2 win over the Can-Am Grays (4-21).
Brian Jones broke a scoreless tie with a leadoff home run to start the fifth inning. Jones' fourth home run of the season gave the Rox a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Charles Peterson walked and scored on Alex Garcia's single to tie the game, 1-1.
The Rox hit two more home runs in the sixth inning. Brad Rosenblat hit a lead off home run and Eddie Gerald hit a three-run blast to put the Rox in front 5-1.
The Grays got one back in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run by Joe Jianetti, making it 5-2.
The Rox added three runs in the top of the ninth. Andrew Salvo doubled to bring home Willie King, and Rosenblat hit his second home run of the night to cap off an 8-2 win.
Anderson (3-1) got the win allowing two runs on nine hits in a complete game. Tony Pierce (2-4) was saddled with the loss.
The Rox and Grays continue their series on Saturday night when the Rox welcome special guest Tommy Heinsohn, a former Celtic and Basketball Hall of Famer, to the ballpark. Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd will get the start for the Rox on Saturday.
