LEOMINSTER, Mass (June 8, 2014). The Brockton Rox took the game from the Dirt Dawgs by a score of 14-3. The Rox started off hot with a bases clearing triple by Christian Campbell (Rutgers University) in the second inning. The Rox would add a home run in the seventh inning by Devlin Granberg (Creighton University) and one in the eighth inning by Jake Wilsey (Tulane University).

The highlight of the day was Richard Fecteau (Salem State) who went 3-3 with three singles. Joe Breen (Southern Connecticut) stayed hot going 2-4 with a single and a double. The Dirt Dawgs tried to make some noise in the bottom of the ninth with back-to-back singles from Vincent Sharkey (Adelphi University) and Kurtis White (Franklin Pierce University). Unfortunately, the rally was cut short and Bill Maier (Iona) was able to hang on for the four inning save. Simon Matthews (Georgetown) was credited with the win.

The pitching bright spot for the Dirt Dawgs was Dan Ditusa (Seton Hall) who threw one scoreless inning of relief and got three ground ball outs. Akassh Agarwal (UC Berkley) will take the ball on Tuesday, June 10th when the Dirt Dawgs welcome the Worcester Bravehearts for our Woo Ball welcome night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35.
