Brockton Rox News Release

The Rox have been the hottest team in the league over the past week. With 9 games remaining on the schedule, Brockton is gearing up for a playoff run. They edged the league's worst team tonight, the Pittsfield Suns.

Brockton's offense wasn't effective yesterday after accumulating just one hit, yet they scored 5 runs. Today was a similar story. Brockton only had 4 hits, but so did the Suns.

James Muse took the mound in a pitching duel against Pittsfield's Ryan Simpler. Muse went 4 innings while letting up 1 run. Simpler was able to go further in the ballgame, going 6.2 Innings. Although 3 runs scored during his outing, only one run was earned.

Pittsfield grasped a 2-1 in the top of the 6th as both teams were trying to gain an advantage.

In the bottom of the 6th, the Rox took the lead. 2 unearned runs allowed the Rox to take a 3-2 lead as Rob Andreoli and Chris Berry scored.

The lead would stay the same the rest of the way as Brockton won 3-2.

The Rox improved to 23-23 on the year. Brockton is on the road tomorrow as they take on the Seacoast Mavericks (31-15). Their next home game is Saturday against the Martha's Vineyard Sharks (19-27). First pitch will be at 7:05 PM. Come see the Rox in action and enjoy fireworks after the game!
