
Rox Fall in Championship, Finish Season with Franchise-Record 53 Wins

St. Cloud, MN - St. Cloud (53-19) finished its record-breaking season on Friday night with a 9-3 loss to Traverse City (46-30) in the Northwoods League Championship.
Jack Steil (Nebraska) got the scoring started with an RBI double in the second inning and put the Rox on top. Steil brought in runs in back-to-back games in the Great Plains Championship and the Northwoods League Championship.
Josh Gainer continued his streak of scoreless innings in Friday night's game. Gainer has thrown 27 innings this season without allowing an earned run. With an ERA of 0.00, Gainer set the Rox' record for ERA in a single season.

In manager David Bellamy's first season, the Rox finished their summer with a franchise-record 53 wins and reached the Northwoods League Championship for the third time in the last six seasons. St. Cloud finished the regular season with the second-best record in Northwoods League history.
St. Cloud won both halves in the Great Plains West and finished the season as the best team in the Northwoods League, locking up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Rox played well in front of the home crowd all season long, winning 31 of 39 games played at Joe Faber Field.
The Rox will return in the summer of 2022 and try to chase after their second Northwoods League Championship in franchise history.
