Brockton Rox News Release

The Brockton Rox jumped ahead and cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Martha's Vineyard Sharks at Campanelli Stadium on Saturday night.

The Rox (24-24), led by Bryce Tucker, held the Sharks (19-30) to just 4 hits. Making his 9th appearance, Tucker was brilliant against the Sharks, going 7 innings strong while allowing just 3 hits and no runs.

The offense jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning. Ben Porter hit a ground-rule double to left field to score Eric Feliz. Later in the inning, Connor Thane reached first by an error by Martha's Vineyard shortstop, Jack Owens, that ultimately scored Porter.

Brockton scored 3 more runs in the 5th to put the game out of reach. With Chase Smartt and Ishmael Edwards reaching base earlier in the inning, Alex Perry drove them home with a bomb off the left-center field wall for a 2-RBI double. Perry would make his way when Eric Feliz ripped an RBI double to jump to a 5-0 lead.

Both teams would tack on an additional run to make the final score 6-1. John Saviano made his 2nd appearance of the season and closed the game.

Ben Porter and Eric Feliz were stellar for the Rox Saturday night, each accumulating 2 hits and an RBI.

Brockton's next home game is tomorrow against the Sharks once again. First pitch is at 4:05. Come see the Rox in action and make sure you dress up, it's Halloween in July for tomorrow's game!
